On 2nd March, we’re delighted to celebrate Jorden’s five-year anniversary with Channel Insurance Brokers. As the Private Clients Manager and team leader, Jorden has played a vital role in ensuring our clients receive exceptional service tailored to the unique needs of individuals and families across Guernsey and Jersey.
We took the opportunity to sit down with Jorden to reflect on her journey with CIB, her thoughts on what makes the Private Clients team so special, and what inspires her to go above and beyond for our community. Here’s what she had to share:
Jorden’s Journey with CIB
- What originally inspired you to pursue a career in insurance, and how did you come to join CIB? I went straight into insurance when I left school in 2008, starting as an office junior, then moving to personal lines department and settling in Private Clients. I already knew a few people working at CIB and they had always said it was a great place to work, so I contacted Tony and well.. here I am, 5 years down the line!
- Can you tell us about a particularly memorable moment or milestone in your career so far? A memorable moment I have would be really when I first started, as I did 1 week in the office before, we went into our first lockdown of covid! My partner and I had to work from home, whilst looking after our 2 boys, who at the time were 8 and 1. It was a juggling act but like everyone else we powered through!
The Value of Local Expertise
- What do you enjoy most about helping clients in the Channel Islands? The ability to go out and visit our clients in the comfort of their own home. This helps us build a good picture of our clients and their insurance needs and is also a great way to build relationships.
- What’s something you’ve learned about the unique insurance needs of Channel Islands residents during your time here? Channel Island residents are very different to the UK, in the fact that they like consistency with who they are speaking with and who handles their policies as it builds. We also understand some policies need to be catered for a Channel Island resident.
Looking Ahead
- As you celebrate five years with CIB, what are you most looking forward to in the future? Continuing to grow the Private Clients department and deliver high service standards throughout.
- How do you see the Private Clients team growing or evolving to better serve our community?
- Do you have any advice for someone considering a career in insurance or joining the CIB team? CIB has a lovely team of people here and everyone is willing to help each other.
